Synopsis
In the beginning there is only the illiaster, a chaos of raw matter and energy, and from the first waves of its turmoil the first angels take form: Yaweh and Satan, then Michael, Lucifer, Raphael, Leviathan and Belial. Together they shape a refuge, Heaven, and over three waves of the flux more angels are born. Now a Fourth Wave is coming, and Yaweh proposes a plan to save Heaven once and for all: to build a new and greater world, Earth, at a cost of many angels' lives. He charges Satan, his oldest friend, with securing every angel's cooperation, and Satan finds himself asking whether they have any right to coerce that sacrifice. Into his doubt steps Abdiel, an ambitious younger angel who wants Satan's rank, and whose lies to both sides turn an honest disagreement into the Revolt of the Angels.
