Jessica Townsend is an Australian children's author who lives on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. Her pet fascinations, which include public transport, ancient cities, hotels, opera singers, Halloween, secret societies and gigantic cats, all found their way into Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow, her award-winning first novel, published in 2017. It became the biggest-selling Australian children's debut since records began, an instant New York Times bestseller and a winner of the Waterstones Children's Book Prize, and its film rights were sold to Fox. The record-breaking series continued with Wundersmith: The Calling of Morrigan Crow (2018), Hollowpox: The Hunt for Morrigan Crow (2020) and Silverborn: The Mystery of Morrigan Crow, a USA Today bestseller.
