Synopsis
Urfin Jus, driven out of the Emerald City after his wooden army was beaten, returns with a new plan to take over the Magic Land. He poses as a fire god before the Marrans, a people who have forgotten how to use fire, and wins them over to serve him. Two children from the outside world, Annie, the younger sister of Elli, and Tim, arrive in the land and join its people in resisting him. The story moves between the Marran country and the Emerald City as both sides prepare for a confrontation, with the children, Charlie Black and the familiar Scarecrow and Tin Woodman at its centre.
