Synopsis
Set in 18th-century Qing China, the novel follows Jiang Haitian and Gu Zhonglian, now leaders of the anti-Qing forces in the martial world. Their nephew Ye Lingfeng asks for help in rescuing the kidnapped Li Guangxia. Jiang Haitian agrees, takes Ye as an apprentice and gathers allies for the rescue. Soon his family and apprentices are drawn into rivalries, political conspiracies and personal betrayals across the martial world, while Jiang mediates disputes and faces threats from the Qing court.
