Synopsis

A Deadly Education opens the Scholomance trilogy inside the Scholomance itself, a magical school built within the Void, a space outside ordinary reality, where young wizards are drawn from around the world at fourteen to study relatively safely until they turn eighteen, cut off from the outside except for the perilous graduation gates. Galadriel "El" Higgins, a half-Welsh, half-Indian sorceress in her junior year, narrates her daily struggle to survive both the school's shifting, sentient dangers and the brutal social hierarchy among her classmates, all while carrying a destructive magical affinity that seems to confirm an ominous prophecy that she is fated to become a maleficer who destroys entire enclaves.
