Synopsis

In the concluding volume of the series, Meryam, the deposed queen of Qaimir, works to resurrect Ashael, a buried elder god whose waking threatens ruin across the desert. Çeda and Emre travel to their people's ancestral homeland in pursuit of the traitor Hamid, only to find the scattered desert tribes united under his leadership and preparing a holy war against Sharakhai. Inside the city, the blood mage Davud investigates a mysterious gateway between worlds that he hopes to close for good, while King Ihsan pursues Meryam, always a step behind her. As Ashael's rising draws nearer, Çeda must try to bring together desert tribes, the people of Sharakhai and even the city's former invaders into a single, uneasy alliance to avert catastrophe.
