Synopsis
Alvin Journeyman continues the Tales of Alvin Maker as Alvin, now a young man who has completed his apprenticeship, travels as a journeyman smith through frontier towns, seeking a place to settle and pursue his ambitions as a Maker while a false accusation from his past resurfaces to threaten his freedom and reputation. As Alvin works to clear his name and establish himself independently of the family and mentors who shaped his earlier years, the malevolent Unmaker continues its long campaign against him through human schemers who see profit or vengeance in bringing him down. The novel follows Alvin's efforts to balance the responsibilities of his growing power as a Maker with the practical dangers of frontier life and the legal and social threats arrayed against him.
