Synopsis
In a world where angels rule and vampires serve them under contract, Elena Deveraux is a Guild hunter who tracks vampires that have broken their bonds. Her talent for the work brings her to the attention of Raphael, the Archangel of New York, who is dangerous, powerful and used to being obeyed. He does not want a runaway vampire this time. He wants Elena to find an archangel who has turned cruel and is leaving a trail of killings across the city. Elena has no real option to refuse, and she is soon working alongside Raphael's court of angels and vampires, including his lieutenant Dmitri. As the hunt goes on, she is drawn into the angels' politics and into a growing and risky attraction to Raphael himself.
