Synopsis
Dmitri, the vampire who serves as Archangel Raphael's right hand, is called to examine a severed head. It carries a distinctive tattoo on its cheek, and the sight stirs memories of a long-buried past that Dmitri has kept hidden for centuries. The case pulls him toward Honor, a Guild hunter who is still recovering from a brutal attack. Honor has felt drawn to Dmitri for a long time, and working beside him tests her recovery as well as her nerve. Their attraction grows stronger as the investigation advances, but Dmitri is a dangerous man with a dangerous history, and the mystery behind the tattoo threatens both of them. The pair must work out who is sending these messages from the past and why, before more people die.
