Synopsis
Lijuan, one of the most feared archangels in the world, has disappeared, and her territory is sliding into chaos as vampire bloodlust rises. The Luminata, an ancient order of angels, calls the Cadre of archangels together to decide what should happen to the land. Raphael and his consort Elena travel to the Luminata compound, where Elena, once a Guild hunter and now an angel, senses that the place hides secrets. The darker the situation becomes, the deeper she digs, and she begins to uncover truths that bear on who and what she is. Raphael stands beside her as the Cadre argues over the empty territory, and both of them face discoveries that may change how they see their own past and each other.
