Synopsis
Elena Deveraux, a human who became an angel and the consort of Archangel Raphael, finds that her wings are failing. She is slipping back toward humanity, which makes her easier to hurt and easier to kill. Raphael and Elena must discover the cause before she falls from the sky. Meanwhile, strange and violent events are spreading around the world. An archangel in China shows signs of madness, a sinkhole filled with lava swallows a man in New York, and monsoon floods strike the deserts of Africa. A mysterious voice also begins to whisper in Elena's mind. Even an archangel's consort may not survive what is coming, and the pair race to understand how these omens are connected to Elena's condition.
