Synopsis
After a war among the archangels, the Archangel of Death and the Archangel of Disease are gone, but the evil they left behind lingers, especially in Africa. There the reanimated dead known as the reborn have begun to show a dangerous spark of intelligence. Titus, the Archangel of Africa, must keep these creatures from spreading across the world, but he cannot do it alone. Many of the surviving angels and archangels are badly wounded, and the rest are fighting a rising wave of vampires. Few options remain. Titus turns to the Hummingbird, an ancient and powerful being whose mind is fragmented, and she must stand beside him. Together they face a discovery more disturbing than any before it, left behind by the Archangel of Disease.
