Synopsis

The concluding volume of the Arrows trilogy finds Talia back at the royal court as Elspeth, heir to the Valdemaran throne, comes of marriageable age, prompting a flurry of political maneuvering among factions hoping to influence her future. As Talia works to expose a traitor operating within the court, the Queen sends her to evaluate a marriage proposal from Prince Ancar of a neighboring realm. In the course of this mission, Talia discovers that Ancar's court harbors a form of sorcery unlike anything practiced by the Heralds, an old and malevolent magic that threatens far more than a single royal marriage. Realizing the danger this poses to Valdemar itself, Talia must find a way to get word of it back to her Queen before it is too late.
