Synopsis
Recovering from severe physical and psychological trauma after the events at Buckkeep, Fitz sets out under a new identity, driven by a compelling magical summons from Prince Verity and a burning need to settle scores with Regal, who has seized power in the chaos. His journey draws him toward the distant Mountain Kingdom in search of the legendary Elderlings, ancient allies who may hold the key to saving the Six Duchies from the Red-Ship threat, accompanied by his bonded wolf Nighteyes and other companions gathered along the way. The quest tests Fitz's loyalty, his fragile sense of self, and his willingness to sacrifice everything for a kingdom that has never fully claimed him as its own.
