Synopsis

The eighth book of The Legend of the Ice People. Hilde is the executioner's daughter, and for that alone she is an outcast: she and her father are mocked by everyone and no one will come near them, until the day four women's bodies are found close to their miserable house. The horrific murders change Hilde's life completely, for because of them she meets the baron Mattias Meiden and Andreas Lind of the Ice People, and is drawn into the hunt for the killer. Published in English as The Executioner's Daughter.

Notes

  • From the series record (The Legend of the Ice People): The original 47-volume saga (1982-1989) following the cursed Ice People clan across generations of Scandinavian history, marked by inherited supernatural gifts, a medallion-bound curse, and (in its later volumes) an underground kingdom where time itself runs differently. Two later continuations exist (a further ~35 volumes across two more parts, published years afterward) and are not yet catalogued here pending closer genre review.
