Synopsis

The seventh book of The Legend of the Ice People, the saga of the descendants of Tengel the Evil, who made a pact with the devil, follows young Tancred Paladin, Gabriella's twin brother, in the Danish countryside. Tancred falls in love for the first time with a terrified girl he finds in the forest, but when he later goes looking for her he finds a castle that no longer exists, and a woman who has been dead for many years. Was it all a nightmare, or is he going mad? Or is the strange inheritance of the Ice People playing tricks on him?

Notes

  • From the series record (The Legend of the Ice People): The original 47-volume saga (1982-1989) following the cursed Ice People clan across generations of Scandinavian history, marked by inherited supernatural gifts, a medallion-bound curse, and (in its later volumes) an underground kingdom where time itself runs differently. Two later continuations exist (a further ~35 volumes across two more parts, published years afterward) and are not yet catalogued here pending closer genre review.

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings, but they resolve to the exact same sequence for this book, so one combined line is shown instead of two identical ones.
