Synopsis
Beasts of Prey follows two teenagers, Koffi and Ekon, as they venture separately, and then together, into the magical Greater Jungle in pursuit of the Shetani, a dangerous and murderous creature that has long terrorized the region. Koffi is indentured to the notorious Night Zoo, a menagerie where she cares for captured magical beasts under harsh conditions, while Ekon is the son of a decorated warrior and eager to prove himself worthy of his family's legacy by hunting the Shetani himself. Set in a world drawn from African folklore and mythology, the novel follows the two teenagers' paths as they intertwine on the hunt, each carrying their own reasons for wanting, and needing, to succeed.
