Synopsis
Blood and Bone is the fifth Novel of the Malazan Empire, set on the distant continent of Jacuruku. The Thaumaturgs, a powerful and expansionist order of sorcerers, launch an invasion of the eastern jungle of Himatan, sacred domain of the goddess Ardata, in search of the fabled lost city of Jakal Viharn and the power rumored to be hidden within it, while the mercenary Crimson Guard also arrives in Jacuruku on a separate mission, seeking their own renegade warrior, Skinner, who fled there after breaking with the Guard's ranks, setting rival factions from two very different traditions on a collision course deep within the jungle.
