Synopsis

In this second Kane novel, the immortal warrior-sorcerer Kane, cursed to endure across the centuries, takes part in a savage raid whose plunder includes a mysterious and powerful relic, the bloodstone of the title. Kane's discovery of the object draws him into a new round of sword-and-sorcery adventure, as its dark power attracts the attention of others eager to possess it. True to the character established in the earlier novel Darkness Weaves, Kane pursues his own ends amid violence and betrayal, using both blade and dark sorcery to secure the relic's power for himself, while the people and forces around him are drawn into danger by its influence.

Notes

  • From the series record (Kane): Core Canon here covers the three Kane novels; the author also wrote roughly twenty further Kane short stories and novellas across 1970-1985, catalogued separately as expanded material rather than Core Canon. Kane is an immortal, cursed anti-hero wandering a violent, Cain-inspired dark-fantasy world.
