Synopsis
The fifteenth Valdemar anthology, edited by series creator Mercedes Lackey, brings together original short stories from Lackey and roughly twenty other contributing authors. Consistent with the earlier anthologies, the book presents a collection of independent tales rather than a single plot, following Heralds, their Companions, and other residents of the kingdom as they encounter the limits and boundaries that shape their duties, relationships, and magical gifts. Some stories continue characters and ongoing miniseries introduced in previous volumes of the series, while others stand on their own, together contributing to the broader picture of Valdemar's society and the varied lives of those who serve or live alongside its order of Heralds.
