Synopsis

Brotherhood of the Wolf continues immediately after The Sum of All Men, following Gaborn Val Orden as he works to consolidate the endowment-based power and allies gathered in the war against Raj Ahten while facing the emergence of the Wolf Lords, or Frowth Giants and their kin, whose brutal tactics of massed endowment-stripping raise the stakes of the conflict further. Gaborn must reckon with the emerging scope of his own destiny, hinted at in the first novel, as reports arrive of new threats gathering beyond the immediate war with Raj Ahten. Old allies and rivals from Heredon and Mystarria find their loyalties tested as the endowment system that grants the series' warriors their extraordinary abilities is also shown to carry escalating and often brutal costs, deepening the moral complexity introduced in the opening volume.
