Synopsis

Wizardborn continues the main Runelords sequence in the aftermath of the war against Raj Ahten, as Gaborn Val Orden begins to grapple more directly with the strange, prophetic sense of danger he has started to feel on behalf of those he considers his own, an ability tied to the larger destiny hinted at in the earlier volumes. New threats emerge that test the endowment system underpinning the series' magic, forcing Gaborn and his allies, including Iome and the warrior Borenson, to confront enemies whose ambitions reach beyond the battles already fought. The novel deepens the series' exploration of the costs of power, as Gaborn's growing abilities place fresh burdens on him even as they offer new hope against the dangers gathering around Heredon and its neighboring kingdoms.
