Notes
- Elminster series #7; the final 3 volumes (Elminster Must Die, Bury Elminster Deep, Elminster Enraged) are also marketed as "The Sage of Shadowdale" trilogy, a continuous conclusion to the same reading order.
- From the series record (Elminster series): Ed Greenwood's 8-novel line about the setting's signature wizard Elminster Aumar (1994-2012); the final 3 volumes are also marketed as "The Sage of Shadowdale" trilogy, a direct continuation of the same reading order, not a separate series. Individual volumes registered 2026-08-18, completing a series stub that had been registered without them since the original admission.
Neighbouring works
Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.
- Publication order, within the series Elminster series: position 7 of 8: previous Elminster Must Die (2010) · next Elminster Enraged (2012)
- Internal chronology, within Forgotten Realms: position 200 of 215: previous The Devil You Know (2016) · next Lord of Stormweather (2003)
