Synopsis

Call Down the Hawk is the first novel in the Dreamer Trilogy, a spin-off of the Raven Cycle centered on Ronan Lynch, a young man able to pull objects and beings out of his own dreams into the waking world. In this world, dreamers cannot stop dreaming and can only try to manage what emerges, while the people and things they dream into being depend entirely on their dreamer's survival. Ronan is drawn into contact with Jordan Hennessy, a dream-forger living under a borrowed identity, and with Carmen Farooq-Lane, who belongs to a group hunting down dreamers because their visions are believed to threaten global catastrophe. The novel follows how these three characters, each shaped by very different relationships to dreaming, are pulled toward one another as their separate agendas begin to collide.

Notes

  • From the series record (The Dreamer Trilogy): A direct continuation focused on Ronan Lynch, a supporting character from The Raven Cycle; requires the first series to be read first.

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.
