Synopsis
Thirteen-year-old Cece Rios sets out on a quest to heal her sister Juana. Since coming back from Devil's Alley, Juana has acted strangely because part of her soul remains in El Sombrerón's lair. Cece travels with her criatura friends toward the Ocean Sanctuary in search of a cure, while Juana secretly goes after the missing piece of her soul on her own. The story alternates between the two sisters in first-person chapters, set in a fantasy world with Mexican, Mayan and Aztec influences. Their paths lead them to confront a dark king in Devil's Alley, and each girl must decide how far she will go for the other.
