Synopsis
The concluding volume of The Infernal Devices brings Tessa Gray face to face with the truth of her own supernatural parentage as the Shadowhunters mount their final campaign against the Magister, Axel Mortmain, and his army of clockwork creatures. Jem Carstairs's worsening illness, tied to his dependence on the drug yin fen, forces difficult choices about his future and his place beside Tessa and Will Herondale. As old loyalties and long-buried secrets surface within the London Institute, Tessa must decide where her heart and her fate truly belong while the group races to stop Mortmain before he can carry out his plan against the Shadowhunters. The novel closes out the trilogy's central love triangle and the fight against Mortmain's schemes.
