Synopsis
Crowbones is the third novel in Anne Bishop's World of the Others spin-off trilogy, continuing the story of Vicki DeVine and her lakeside resort, the Jumble, in the village of Sproing. When Vicki hosts a Trickster Night gathering meant to bring humans and Others together for a night of harmless seasonal fun, an impostor dressed as the folkloric Crowgard bogeyman known as Crowbones is murdered alongside a shapeshifting Crow, sparking fears among the community that the real Crowbones, a figure of old and genuinely dangerous legend rather than mere seasonal costume, may have come to the Jumble at last to collect a debt of his own.
