Synopsis
Wild Country is the second novel in Anne Bishop's World of the Others spin-off trilogy, taking place simultaneously with the events of Etched in Bone rather than following directly after them. It is set in the town of Bennett, a former ghost town now being cautiously resettled as a mixed community where humans and the shapeshifting Others attempt to live and work side by side under new, still-untested rules. As newcomers arrive with their own histories and motives, the fragile experiment in cohabitation is tested by outside dangers and by the residents' own uncertainty about how much they can really trust their unfamiliar neighbors.
