Synopsis
Dark of the Moon is the second book in P.C. Hodgell's Kencyrath series, following directly from the events of God Stalk. The story alternates between two protagonists: Jame and her large, loyal companion Marc flee the burning city of Tai-tastigon through dangerous mountain passes as winter closes in, searching for Jame's estranged brother Tori and confronting suppressed memories of her traumatic past along the way. Meanwhile Tori, now Highlord of the Kencyrath, struggles to unite the fractious lords of his own people while managing threats both external and internal, including unsettling nightmares and the unwelcome, complicated return of the sister he has not seen in years.
