Synopsis
Shadow bruja Ren Santiago was relentlessly pursued by the Lords of Night, the evil Aztec gods who claimed that she was destined to be their queen, a destiny she refused to accept, so she chose death instead. Unfortunately, death is not the answer to her problems. To win another chance at life, Ren must strike a bargain, but the task is far from simple: she has lost both her time rope and her shadow magic, the source of her powers, and the crown at the heart of the deal was torn in two when she died. She also wants to make sure that her friends survived the fight in which she was killed. The second book closes the Shadow Bruja duology.
