Synopsis
The companions around the warrior Havald finally reach the harbour city of Askir, but their alliance is shaken by what they find there. A prophecy tells Havald that he will set off the war of the gods and that he is fated to lose to his last opponent, which would mean his death. Storylines that began in the earlier books, including the events in the city itself, now come together as the council of the realm meets and the enemy's plans move closer.
