Synopsis
Paige Winterbourne, a young witch, is eligible to lead the American Coven after her mother's death, and she is now guardian of Savannah, an orphan with growing powers. About nine months after the events of Stolen, the Coven Elders complain about the girl's behavior, and Paige is served with a custody petition from a half-demon named Leah O'Donnell. The petition is driven by Savannah's father, Kristof Nast, who leads a sorcerer cabal. Paige demands a paternity test, and the other side answers with a campaign of dirty tricks. When a lawyer is killed, Paige finds herself framed for the murder and has to protect both herself and the girl.
