Synopsis
Divided Allegiance continues Paksenarrion's story after her service as a mercenary soldier, following her as she leaves the company and pursues training that will test both her combat skill and her moral character in new ways. Her path leads her toward the disciplines associated with becoming a paladin, a calling that demands not only fighting ability but also faith, integrity, and endurance under trial. Paks faces a series of challenges, including encounters with dangerous supernatural forces and testing environments meant to prove or break the resolve of those who seek this higher calling. The novel follows her uneven progress toward this goal, marked by setbacks as well as growth, as she comes to understand more fully what will be asked of her if she is to succeed.
