Synopsis
Dragondrums is the concluding volume of the Harper Hall trilogy, following Menolly as she comes into her own as a harper amid Pern's ongoing Threadfall threat. The book shifts its central viewpoint to Piemur, a resourceful younger apprentice and friend of Menolly's whose voice has just broken, ending his career as a treble soloist and leaving him uncertain about his future at the Harper Hall. Assigned to unusual errands by Master Robinton that take him traveling around Pern, Piemur finds himself drawn into increasingly secretive work involving the reclusive Oldtimers and the mysterious southern continent. As he juggles his growing responsibilities with his instinct for getting into trouble, Piemur must decide how far he is willing to go to prove himself useful to the Harper Hall's quieter, more dangerous undertakings.
