Synopsis
Dragonsinger is the second book of the Harper Hall trilogy, following Menolly as she trains at the Harper Hall and navigates being one of few female harpers. Brought to the Harper Hall by Master Robinton after her talent and her bond with fire lizards are discovered, Menolly must adjust to a completely new environment full of unfamiliar rules, rivalries, and expectations. Her nine fire lizards draw constant attention, both welcome and unwelcome, from students and instructors alike, and her working-class background and gender make some of her fellow apprentices resentful of the opportunities being offered to her. As she works to prove her musical skill and earn her place among the Hall's more privileged students, Menolly must also learn to manage her unusual companions without letting them overshadow the craft she has worked so hard to be allowed to pursue.
