Synopsis

One evening the sky over Thale seems to tear open: it is the moment when An-Rukhbar comes from another dimension to banish the Benevolent Goddess, wipe out the mist elves and the druids, and subjugate the people of the land. Before his death the druid Anthork prophesies that a saviour will come after ten summers. A girl, Sunnivah, is born, and the mist elf Naemy brings her to the priestesses of In-Gwana-Thse, where she grows up; on her sixteenth birthday she learns that she has been chosen as the sword priestess who is to free the Goddess, and that she bears the mark of the chosen one. Felten’s debut won the 2002 Deutscher Phantastik Preis for best German novel.
