Synopsis

Emily Windsnap and the Monster from the Deep continues directly after the first book, with Emily now settled among the merfolk of Neptune's kingdom and eager to fit in with her new mermaid friends. Wanting to impress them and prove herself as one of their own, she takes part in a reckless dare involving a forbidden part of the ocean, a decision she quickly comes to regret. Her bid to look brave in front of her peers accidentally disturbs a legendary kraken slumbering in the deep, an ancient sea monster whose waking threatens the safety of the merfolk community around her. Emily must contend with the consequences of her own impulsiveness while her new friendships, still fragile, are tested by the danger she has unleashed, forcing her to find a way to make things right before the creature causes lasting harm.
