Synopsis
Erethizon Dorsatum, better known as Ereth, the self-centred, foul-tempered old porcupine, is having a birthday. Convinced that his best friend Poppy and her family have overlooked it, he wanders off in search of his favourite treat, salt, and finds instead an adventure he had not counted on: surrogate parenthood. Suddenly he has three rambunctious fox kits to look after, while being stalked by Marty the Fisher, the one creature in Dimwood Forest who can do him harm.
