Synopsis

The forty-third book of The Legend of the Ice People, published in Swedish as En glimt av ömhet and in English as A Glimpse of Tenderness. The clan's long struggle against Tengel the Evil, the forefather who made a pact with the devil, has become a deadly race to be the first to reach the Ice People's forgotten valley. The Ice People have good helpers, but Tengel's hordes are terrifyingly strong and, above all, merciless. In the midst of this struggle Tova, born under an unlucky star and one of the clan's cursed, experiences the first and perhaps only infatuation of her life, with the mortally ill Irishman Ian Morahan.

Notes

  • From the series record (The Legend of the Ice People): The original 47-volume saga (1982-1989) following the cursed Ice People clan across generations of Scandinavian history, marked by inherited supernatural gifts, a medallion-bound curse, and (in its later volumes) an underground kingdom where time itself runs differently. Two later continuations exist (a further ~35 volumes across two more parts, published years afterward) and are not yet catalogued here pending closer genre review.

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings, but they resolve to the exact same sequence for this book, so one combined line is shown instead of two identical ones.
