Synopsis
Etched in Bone is the fifth novel in Anne Bishop's The Others series. After humans staged a brutal, ultimately disastrous uprising against the terra indigene, the surviving human cities now live in real fear of the vast, dangerous wilderness beyond their borders, newly aware of exactly how much the Others have been restraining themselves. At the Lakeside Courtyard, wolf shifter Simon Wolfgard and blood prophet Meg Corbyn work to maintain a fragile peace with their remaining human allies, even as the arrival of a new troublemaker draws the unwelcome attention of the Elders, ancient and far more lethal beings who answer to no one.
