Synopsis
The fourth novel in the Others series is set in a world where humans are decidedly not the dominant species, and where the Others, after allying more closely with the cassandra sangue, must weigh how much trust and tolerance to extend toward humanity as a whole. As this delicate calculation plays out at the Lakeside Courtyard, a radical anti-Other human faction escalates a campaign of violent attacks aimed at seizing Other-controlled land, forcing Meg, Simon, and their allies to determine how far the Others are willing to go to defend both their territory and the more sympathetic humans caught in the middle.
