Synopsis
Opal LaZelle, a member of the same magical family, works as a makeup artist and can change how people look. On a film set she develops a crush on the actor who plays the movie's monster, a figure called the Dark God. When she mixes her talent with her makeup work and goes too far, something wakes up and takes hold of him, and he stays in character even when the cameras stop. Opal begins to see that the choice of filming location is no accident. She has to work out whether the force inside him is truly dangerous, and what her own darker experiments with magic may have set loose.
