Synopsis

Flight from Nevèrÿon interweaves stories set in the ancient land of Nevèrÿon with sections set in contemporary New York City, following a young smuggler whose fascination with the legendary Gorgik the Liberator leads him to seek out the man himself, alongside a traveling actor known as the Mummer and a former prince turned philosopher called the Master. As Gorgik's movement to end slavery gains ground, the collection follows the appearance of various self-styled successors and imitators of Gorgik, each claiming his mantle for different, sometimes self-serving purposes, while a plague spreads through Nevèrÿon's society and draws uneasy comparisons to real-world crises.
