Synopsis
Forged is the eleventh novel in the Alex Verus series and follows Alex, a mage who has grown increasingly willing to use harsh methods to protect the small circle of people he considers family, as war between factions of the magical world draws closer. His friend Anne, bound to a dangerous jinn, pursues her own campaign against those who wronged her, while Alex simultaneously has to contend with his longtime enemy on the Council, Levistus, and with assassination teams sent against him. Searching for a way to end his prolonged conflict with the Council, Alex looks toward a powerful magical artifact known as the fateweaver as a possible solution, even as he tries to stay ahead of the mages hunting him and to keep Anne from taking actions that could prove catastrophic for everyone around her.
