Synopsis
Claire Danvers builds a system that draws on vampire powers to hide the truth about Morganville from the outside world. It is a drastic step, and it puts a heavy strain on the barriers that keep the town closed. Soon people in town begin losing their memories, and Claire's allies begin to turn against her. Claire tries to find out what has gone wrong and whether the system she made can be repaired. The vampires who run Morganville have their own views on what she has done, and the town's fragile arrangement between humans and vampires is put under pressure that it may not survive.
