Synopsis
Every Midwinter, Darak's tribe gathers in the grove to watch the sacred battle between the Oak and the Holly, a rite that ends the winter and brings back the spring. Darak is the tribe's hunter, and his brother Tinnean is among those chosen to take part. This year strange portents appear in the sky before the ritual begins. When the battle goes wrong, the Holly's spirit takes hold of Darak's brother, and chaos breaks into the grove of the First Forest. The spirits of the tribe, Tinnean's among them, are lost. Darak sets out on a quest to find them and restore the balance of nature, a journey that may force him into the realm of Chaos itself.
