Synopsis

Hell Bent picks up after the events of Ninth House, as Alex Stern becomes determined to rescue her mentor Darlington from the hell he was pulled into, whatever it costs her fragile position as a student at Yale and as the head of Lethe. Working largely in secret, since her superiors have no interest in sanctioning such a mission, Alex partners with fellow Lethe member Dawes to search for any means of reaching Darlington and bringing him home. The two assemble an unlikely team of allies, including a local police detective, Alex's non-magical college roommate, and an outcast former member of one of Yale's secret societies, to help pull off a rescue that conventional wisdom says should be impossible.
