Synopsis
Honor's Paradox is set at the Kencyrath's military academy during Jame's final term there, and explores a central tension running through her whole time at Tentir: whether honor lies in obedience to one's lord or in loyalty to one's own conscience. The Kencyrath are a people who fled across parallel worlds while pursued by the ancient darkness known as Perimal Darkling, and believe that three chosen individuals, the Tyr-ridan, will be needed to finally defeat it; Jame is prophesied to be one of them. As she works to expose corruption within the academy's Great Houses and to forge genuine bonds between cadets from rival, feuding families, Jame also continues investigating a long-unsolved crime tied to her own house's past.
