Synopsis

Intrigues is the second book of the Collegium Chronicles, continuing Mags's training and his involvement in court intrigues at Haven. Still an outsider among the other trainees because of his impoverished past, Mags finds himself further isolated when disturbing flashes of the future seem to connect him to a possible attempt on the king's life. A senior Herald takes notice and recruits him as a secret informant, adding covert intelligence work to his already demanding Collegium studies. Balancing his official training with this clandestine role forces Mags to navigate the suspicions of his peers while learning to trust the handful of people who know the truth about his double life. The novel follows his growing skill at observation and deception even as the mystery behind the warning visions remains unresolved.
