Synopsis

In the third Dark Swan novel, Eugenie Markham, now established as queen of the Thorn Land and known to be the daughter of the Storm King, continues trying to balance her royal responsibilities in the Otherworld with an ordinary life in the mortal world. She remains under pressure over the prophecy surrounding her future offspring even as a devastating war threatens to overwhelm her kingdom. Seeking a way to end the conflict, Eugenie considers pursuing the legendary Iron Crown, a source of overwhelming power rumored able to turn the tide, though claiming it means confronting serious risk to herself. Her search is complicated by uncertain allies, including the fairy king Dorian, whose motives are not entirely clear, and her former lover Kiyo, whose own loyalties are far from settled, leaving Eugenie to weigh whether the Crown's power is worth what it might cost her.
